How to replace a brake pad on an MTD Push Lawn Mower?
I've got an Mtd Mower.... was recently giving it a tune up and making a small wiring repair... once done i was putting the flywheel back on and stupidly forgot to hold down the safety brake/mower Shut Off lever... got a little too rammy and the brake pad broke off.... I've never had to replace one of these on a Push Mower before and to me it looks as if the "friction pad" is just glued in place???
will glue even hold it in place against rotational force of the flywheel when applied???
is there a special glue to fix this??? as i would imagine it would have to be conductive in order to ground out the pick-up coil.....
been to the local parts store got a replacement pad and apparently no such glue exists.... furthermore there are supposed to be "slots" the pad slides into....(which is true on Riding Mowers) anyways am at a stand still as i've got a pad and a flat surface and nothing to hold it in place....
thanks in advance
I've used Gorilla glue on tough things like this and had it to be very successful.
You can buy it at Lowe's, Home Depot, Wal mart and also Craft stores.
If possible I would clap it and leave it for 24-48 hours.
